ESP100 - Exterior - ALIAS

The ESP100 was given to us as a group project by Volvo Cars. I built the exterior of the ESP100 together with Hennie Gustafsson in Alias Autodesk. I was in charge of the body side and rear while Hennie did the greenhouse and front. We were provided with design sketches, incision curves and wheel pies, otherwise it was up to us to figure out a working patch layout.

I spent most of my time in the rear wheelhouse. Wanting to deliver that signature “v” shape highlight that Volvo has on many of their models and still follow the sketches of the meeting between body side and rear. This was a tricky area where I in the end had to compromise and sacrifice part of the highlight to get a better 45 angle view of the rear. In the end however I was happy with the result.
